It seems like only yesterday when Tayo Oviosu‘s mobile payment service launched. That was back in April of 2009, exactly 5 years ago today.
It took Paga another 2 years to receive CBN operating license and since then the platform has grown into a 204-member team, working with a network of over 4,470 agents in 25 states, and currently serving over 1350+ businesses nationwide. Of the over 1.3 million users Paga has managed to amass, 15 are said to use Paga every minute to conduct transactions from their mobile phones, amounting to about 7 million transactions worth over N80 billion to date. That’s huge. One can only imagine what the future holds for Paga.
