Last week, we told you which politicians we would like to see join Twitter. This week, we focus on politicians who have not only joined Twitter, but also tweet actively.
Reuben Abati (@abati1990)
The government basher turned government apologetic is a Twitter favourite, like him or not. When he’s not tweeting to defend President Jonathan or himself, he’s autobot tweeting presidential escapades.

“Tweetlight”: Too many. He makes news like every other week
Nasir El-Rufai (elrufai)
Former FCT Minister, Deputy National Secretary of the opposition party (APC) and publicly sworn enemy of the Goodluck Jonathan administration. Nasir El-Rufai is one politician who appears to tweet a lot, and almost always anti-Jonathan. Well… a whole lot of his tweets are actually auto shares to really long Facebook posts. But he does seem to tweet by himself once in a while. He tends to use “LWKMD” a lot.

Femi Fani-Kayode (realFFK)
As far as politics on Twitter goes, FFK is the undisputed hotbed of controversy. He never shies away from sharing his honest political views on Twitter, even when it’s at the risk of being called a bigot.

May God bless and deliver Nigeria. Our nation shall rise up to where she belongs in God's way and in His time.

Tweetlight: It’s between his return to PDP (got him a lot of flak) and his short but “epic” tweetfight vs Reuben Abati
Atiku Abubakar (@atiku)
Atiku Abubakar served as VP under the President Obasanjo regime. I like to think of him as the poster boy for Nigerian politicians on Twitter. If any politician got his social media campaign right, it’s Atiku. He even got verified. While we suspect that Atiku doesn’t personally handle most of his tweeting, we can’t help notice the occasional personal feel to his Twitter presence.

Obiageli Ezekwesili (obyezeks)
“Oby Ezeks”, the Havard University graduate, served as a Federal Minister twice under President Obasanjo’s regime. She is also a former VP of the World Bank Africa division. She’s been relatively very active on Twitter, more recently notable as one of the champions of the online campaign for the missing Chibok girls.
