Last year, Konga launched an affiliate initiative tagged, the Konga Associate program, to enable promoters of the brand earn some commission for sales made via their media channels.

Konga has now announced that Mr Paschal Okafor, owner of the Naija Tech Guide website, a site focused on technology news, reviews, specs and prices of gadgets, has emerged as the first Konga Affiliate to make a Million Naira from the affiliate commissions.  Mr. Okafor is said to have been promoting products featured on Konga.com for a while now.

The question you’re itching to ask, I’m sure, is can you make one million from Konga affiliates too? The answer – we’re not sure. Konga has not confirmed but we believe that affiliate takings would probably reflect a power law distribution – Paschal’s takings might not be a direct reflection of the profits made by other affiliates. For all we know, Paschal is an outlier.

Or not. We’re awaiting comment from Konga on the question. Specifically, how much have the second, third, fourth and fifth highest grossing Konga affiliates earned so far?

Currently, the program now has over 2,500 partners, who use different media channels to promote Konga products – websites, search engines, social media networks, postings in forums, or email – and drive new users and sales to Konga.com.

Paschal is in fact an affiliate genius, he has been involved in the Jumia Affiliate program for over 6 months as well, and probably knows a few more affiliate tricks than the average online marketer.
