Ghana’s Climate Innovation Center (CIC) has opened applications for its Green Innovators Bootcamp. With support from World Bank’s infoDev Climate Technology programme, the initiative is out to identify a robust pipeline of innovative green companies that the center can accelerate when operational.

The event is open to Green enterprises and entrepreneurs, both well-established and start-ups, researchers (affiliated with an accredited university or research institute) that provide green innovation services and consultants, supporting green enterprises.

In a statement on the programme’s website, Ghana CIC says, “Top performers of the Bootcamp will be eligible for an acceleration program of training, mentoring, peer-to-peer learning and business advisory support worth up to US $10,000. The program will help the selected companies refine their marketing strategies as well as their business and financial plans”.

About 25 entrepreneurs and SMEs will be selected during the first phase of the bootcamp on a competitive basis for participation.  Winners, GCIC says, may be eligible to receive up to US$ 50,000 in concept grants and admission to the Ghana CIC Accelerator Program.

It is not expressly stated, but it does appear that the event is open only to participants domiciled in Ghana.

Applications close January 31, 2015. Apply here.
