Developed by Solo, a smartphone and digital content development company,Solo View is a transactional video-on-demand (TVOD) app that allows users buy and download movies on the go.

Transactional video on demand has two basic models and they are: download to own (DTO) and download to rent (DTR).

Solo View operates on the download to own form of TVOD. This implies that movies on the app can be purchased electronically for an unlimited viewing access within the app. The TVOD model is in contrast with iROKOtv’s monthly subscription model (Subscription video on demand) which runs as a streaming service.

The platform requires user registration for access. Thereafter, users simply need to search through the app’s library for a movie of their choice.

Solo View provides access to Hollywood and Nollywood movies, with the price ranging between 200 to 350 naira, as the case may be.

Downloading movies can be a strain on users data, however, so it’s handy that users can download via Solo hotspots available nationwide. Solo’s content service is based on Kiora’s hotspot technology.

Solo View supports Paga, Mastercard, Visa and Verve as its e- payment platforms.

The App is currently limited to Android devices via Google Play Store.
