The World Bank ICT Practice and Buni Innovation Hub, will be hosting the third Negawatt Challenge from March 28-29, 2015 in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

The innovation competition hopes to leverage on Dar es Salaam’s affluent ecosystem of innovative entrepreneurs/technology hubs to surface software, hardware and new business solutions.

“The Negawatt Challenge locations are selected based on the government’s energy efficiency and low carbon growth, as well as the existence of dynamic and growing entrepreneurial and technology sectors,” an excerpt from Buni’s website reads.

Nairobi (Kenya), Accra (Ghana), Rio De Janeiro (Brazil) and Dar es Salaam (Tanzania) are the countries participating in this year’s competition.

The Negawatt Challenge locations are selected based on the government’s energy efficiency and low carbon growth, as well as the existence of dynamic and growing entrepreneurial and technology sectors.
