Airtel Rwanda has expanded payment options for Kenya Airways travellers via its mobile money platform.
Airtel says its registered customers on Airtel money can now pay for their Kenya Airways tickets by dialing *182# and follow further directives.
“This partnership and service brings convenience and ease for our customers to a whole new level as they will now be able to pay for their Kenya Airways (KQ) tickets anytime, anywhere while using their mobile phone,” says Airtel Rwanda Chief Financial Officer, Tano Oware.
Mobile commerce is gaining grounds in Rwanda, where people can pay electricity and water bills, TV subscriptions, buy airtime etcetera from the comfort of their mobiles, introducing the ability to book a flight ticket via mobile seem a smart move from Airtel.
Pauline Kariuki, the Kenya Airways Rwanda manager said “paying for air tickets using Airtel Money will save customers the headache of going to travel agents or KQ offices to book.”
