MTN Business, a subsidiary of MTN Group is recruiting young African entrepreneurs in ICT for its supplier development programme. According to a statement from the human resource development outfit, New Generation Mindset, the initiative aims to empower and expose the entrepreneurs to growth opportunities.
MTN business is teaming up with Sarah Baartman District Municipality and New Generation Mindset (NGM), to drive the programme.
The supplier development programme will see 60 growing ICT companies undergo a six-stage programme for three years. MTN says its prime demography are nascent ICT companies that have been in operation for less than two years and/or ICT companies owned by entrepreneurs less than 35 years old.
“Our programme is aligned with the National Development Plan’s goals of addressing poverty alleviation and real empowerment by creating a new class of young, black entrepreneurs. As a leader in the technology sector, we’re in a prime position to leverage our technical expertise and national footprint to develop skills and small enterprises that have the potential to grow into larger, sustainable businesses,” Alpheus Mangale, Chief Enterprise Officer at MTN Business said.
