Demo Africa has announced the 30 African startups that will pitch at DEMO Africa 2015 event in Lagos this September.
The final list features eight startups each from Nigeria and Kenya, three startups from South Africa, two each from Ghana, Egypt, Cameroon and Zimbabwe, and Uganda , Tanzania and Ivory Coast each have one startups pitching in Lagos come September.
The list of startups is as follows
Nigeria :
Mavis Computel, Oga Venue,TalkingBookz, CarpartsNigeria, Zuvaa, SmartEdu, PoshRite, and iKon Tracker.
Kenya:
InsureAfrika, Abacus, SimbaPay, ENT-Mobile, Bitsoko, BambaPOS, Shield Finance and LipaPlus.
South African:
Edge Books, Bozza and Eco-mc2.
Cameroon:
Koomza and Feem Wifi.
Egypt:
LockName and Raye7.
Ghana:
Flippy Campus and Zeepay.
Zimbabwe:
IPC eProductivity and RoadRules.
Uganda:
Ivory Coast:
Tanzania:
The 30 finalists were selected from over 600 applicants who participated in mini-pitch events in their respective countries, however four startups had been selected prior to the mini-pitch event. All 30 startups will now be placed in a mentorship programme running till September 22 to help the startups improve their pitching skills.
DEMO Africa 2015 is scheduled to take place from 21th and 25th September at the Eko Hotels and Suites in Lagos, Nigeria.
