Cape Town-based end-to-end web-based transportation solutions startup, WhereIsMyTransport has completed a funding round worth $900,000.

Ventureburn reports that the funding round was oversubscribed and included funders from private and public institutions including Tom Boardman, former CEO of Nedbank and chairman of Athena Capital, as well as a Kim Fennell, CEO of deCarta, an Uber technologies company.

The startup has also opened a new office in London. According to a media release to Ventureburn, WhereIsMyTransport took the decision to open an international office in a bid to connect with its clients, cities and transit operators around the globe. The startup has also been moved its headquarters to a new campus in Cape Town to accommodate its expanding team.

“We’ve been fortunate to have a fantastic group of investors from key industries join us,” says co-founder Devin de Vries, co-founder of WhereIsMyTransport. “Their added expertise and experience will be crucial as we enter a new phase of product development and international expansion,” he added.

WhereIsMyTransport is in the Knife Capital Incubator, Grindstone, and is also a participant in the Microsoft BizSpark Programme.
