As Jumia and Konga consolidate their grip on general ecommerce merchandise, ecommerce wantrepreneurs are finally beginning to join niche ecommerce pioneers like Fashpa.com and Supermart.ng to actively explore narrow but deep opportunities that the two leading behemoths are ill-equipped to serve efficiently. Scheduled to launch in April, Furnish.ng is the latest niche ecommerce play to have come onto my Radar. Furnish.ng was created by Abuja-based entrepeneur, Ndianabasi Udonkang.

That is not to say that online furniture retail is unoccupied. Sheriff Shittu’s Showroom.ng has been around for a while, and has even picked up funding. But if we’re going by the 180 million population stat that Nigerian founders like to bandy around, there’s enough space for everyone to operate. Everything is awesome.

furnish.ng

Weirdly, furnish.ng’s url doesn’t resolve — the site will launch officially on the 3rd of April. But they could have just redirected it to the prelaunch page where there’s a giveaway/promotion going on (update: founder reached out to say it now does). Wait, I just plugged a promo. Damn.
