So, TECNO has sent in the latest in their Boom series – the Boom J8. Now, if you weren’t aware, the Boom series is TECNO’s gift to music lovers. Last year saw the release of the first two Boom phones, the J5 and J7, and this year, we’ve got the Boom J8, which comes with TECNO’s new, customised UI, HiOS.
Branding was saved for the back of the phone which has “TECNO” written at the middle, and “Boom” at the bottom. The back of the phone feels coarse but after taking it out, I saw it was made of a bendy, plastic material. Yeah, you can take out the back cover, but not the battery. The Boom J8’s 3000mAh battery is built-in, and doesn’t make the phone heavy at all.
TECNO put all three control buttons – two for volume control, and another to power/lock the phone – on the right hand side of the Boom J8.
It came with a micro-USB cable, and a DC adaptor – as usual – for charging the device. There was also a free flip-cover phone case in the box, for our friends with butterfingers. Osarumen is handling the headphones that came with so I’m going to leave that department entirely to him. But this is what they look like anyways.
I’ll tell you how the phone delivers on all its specs in a few days. So yeah, expect my review soon.
