Coven Works, a company long celebrated for democratising access to data and AI education across emerging markets, has announced a bold new strategic direction. The company is pivoting into frontier hardware through the launch of Blackshore, a new division focused on designing and deploying AI-native PCs tailored for the future of edge computing and on-device intelligence.

This transition marks a significant evolution for Coven Works, which began its journey in 2018 through the PeaceTech Accelerator in Washington, D.C. Over the past seven years, Coven Works has trained over 10,000 AI and data professionals across Africa, Asia, and the United States, building a reputation for creating job-ready talent in an increasingly AI-driven world.

“Blackshore is our leap into the hardware revolution,” said a spokesperson for Coven Works. “We believe the next computing wave will be edge-first, privacy-secure, and AI-native. Our new product line will reflect that.”

The new hardware division is already quietly backed by former Microsoft and Google executives, with a successful capital raise of an undisclosed amount now complete. Blackshore’s first product line—set to be unveiled later this year—focuses on affordable, AI-native PCs with built-in neural processing units (NPUs) optimised for emerging markets. These devices are being developed with localised software and offline-first AI capabilities in mind, especially for regions with inconsistent connectivity.

As part of this pivot, Coven Works has returned its educational operations back to “Curators Interactive,” a newly revitalised standalone platform focused on immersive AI education and modular skill development. Curators Interactive will continue to build on Coven Works’ legacy in the AI workforce readiness space, while Blackshore becomes the company’s flagship division for innovation in hardware.

“Coven Works is no longer just preparing people for the future of work—we’re now building the tools that define it,” the spokesperson added.
