The conversation about Africa’s future reached a new crescendo last weekend at the Prosper Conference 2025, Vesti’s flagship gathering designed to celebrate African excellence at the intersection of technology, business, creativity, and heritage.
Held at the Landmark Centre, Lagos, the conference themed “Roots to Riches: Africa Rising” convened over 500 entrepreneurs, investors, creatives, and policymakers from across the continent and the diaspora to explore how Africa’s ideas, people, and capital can move freely, shaping a new era of continental influence.
In his keynote address, Olusola Amusan, CEO of Vesti, challenged attendees to move from déjà vu, the sense of repeating familiar patterns, to vuja dé, a mindset that sees old realities through new perspectives.
“Africa’s next transformation won’t come from imitation; it will come from reinterpretation,” Amusan said. “It’s time we stop reliving familiar stories and start reimagining what’s possible with fresh eyes, courage, and collaboration.” Olusola noted.
The event’s panels and keynotes also featured some of the continent’s most respected voices across government, enterprise, and the tech ecosystem — including Vesti’s Cofounder and COO, Abimbola Amusan, Disruptor and Futurist Dr. Olakunle Soriyan, Hon. Tunbosun Alake (Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Innovation and Technology), Debola Deji Kurunmi, Seyi Ebenezer and Seye Dele, among others.
Across multiple sessions, speakers unpacked topics central to Africa’s evolving identity in a digital world, from the future of technology disruption to the redefinition of African enterprise, diaspora-driven investment, and how cultural identity fuels innovation.

One of the standout panels, “The Future of Technology Disruption in Africa,” explored how local founders can build resilient systems amid global shifts in AI, fintech, and data policy. Another, “The Future of African Enterprise,” spotlighted entrepreneurs scaling homegrown solutions for global markets, underscoring the conference’s belief that Africa’s next wave of influence will be powered by indigenous innovation.
Beyond the sessions, Prosper 2026 created a culture-rich environment that blended heritage and modernity from its green-carpet welcome tunnel inspired by African design, to curated networking sessions connecting 200+ leaders across industries.

The Prosper Pitch Competition also provided one of the conference’s most inspiring moments. Over 12 African-led startups pitched their ventures before a panel of investors, competing for $5,000 in non-equity seed funding, $25,000 in business perks, and access to diaspora mentors.
The event culminated in an industry mixer honoring visionaries shaping Africa’s creative, business, and innovation landscapes — a fitting close to a conference built on celebration and possibility.
