How two Nigerian founders are building the intersection between Web3 usability and everyday social identity.
In the fast-evolving world of blockchain, usability remains one of the industry’s biggest bottlenecks. While infrastructure has become faster and more scalable, the experience of using crypto still feels intimidating to most people. Copying and pasting long wallet addresses, managing private keys, and the constant fear of making one small mistake — these remain unsolved problems standing between mainstream users and decentralised finance.
XendGlobal, a new product built by Nigerian founders Gift Opia and Oluwatomiwa Akinbode, aims to solve this problem by putting payment on top of every social application powered by your social handles.
“Payments in Web3 should feel as effortless as sending Apple Cash on iMessage — instant, seamless, but this time, available across every social platform,” says Gift, the technical lead at XendGlobal.
How It Works

At its core, XendGlobal reimagines what payments can be in the social era. It lets you send stablecoins to anyone — through their X handle, email, or even phone number, without ever leaving the app you’re in. No wallet addresses. No friction. Just intent and instant connection.
Behind the scenes, every social handle becomes a Solana-powered smart account — transforming identity itself into infrastructure. In one click, your @username isn’t just a profile any more; it’s your on-chain wallet, seamlessly fused with the internet you already use.
Users can already test this through XendGlobal’s public beta, with the Chromium-based browser extension currently rolling out and a mobile app in development.
The team is building on the promise of smart account technology, which abstracts away the technical barriers of traditional wallets. Smart accounts (or account abstraction wallets) let developers add programmable logic — social recovery, gasless transactions, spending limits — making the Web3 experience as smooth as Web2.

Why This Matters
Web3’s long-standing challenge has never been technology — it’s been accessibility.
XendGlobal’s approach brings a familiar interaction model to crypto: you don’t need to understand the underlying tech to use it. You only need your social account.
By merging social identity and financial identity, XendGlobal creates a new type of user experience — one that feels as intuitive as sending a DM, but powered by decentralised technology underneath.
“If you can send a message to someone online, you should be able to send value the same way,” says Oluwatomiwa, the product lead at XendGlobal. “That’s the entire idea behind what we’re building.”
The Vision and the Founders
Gift Opia, the project’s technical lead, focuses on building scalable blockchain infrastructure to make social-to-wallet transfers seamless, secure, and trustless.
Oluwatomiwa Akinbode, who leads product direction, brings years of experience simplifying complex Web3 UX systems for mainstream users.
Together, they’re not just building another wallet — they’re crafting a usability layer for Web3’s next billion users.
What’s Next
Currently in public beta, XendGlobal plans to:
- Grow a substantial user base across key markets
- Transition from beta to full release
- Form key ecosystem partnerships
- Expand beyond Solana into multi-chain support by Q4 2026
As Web3 matures, projects like XendGlobal are redefining what adoption looks like — not through hype, but through simplicity. By the end of 2026, the team envisions a world where crypto transfers feel as normal as sending an emoji.
