One key area where Nokia Here trumps Google’s Map service is in offline functionality.
Nokia (the software company, not the smartphone division acquired by Microsoft) recently expanded Here Maps service availability to Android, with the release of custom apps for Samsung Galaxy devices. And they’ve made a point of showing how it compares with Google Maps for Android.
The video features Nokia Product Marketing lead, Alexander Osaki dubbing Google Maps offline functionality a “glorified screenshot” and touting Here Maps as a “true offline map”.

While Google Maps will let you cache sections of a map for later use (but without full navigation), Nokia Here allows users download full region maps complete with voice-guided navigation, to be used completely offline.
