Ever imagined what Lagos will look like in 50-100 years? I have, and it’s not very far off from what Lekan Jeyifo depicted in the mockup above. I’m sure Jeremy Kirshbaum has, and that’s why he’s convening the Future of Lagos Workshop holding next Thursday, August 25. Jeremy is a Research Manager from Institute For The Future, a California-based non-profit strategic research group. Basically, their job is to look at emerging trends and theorise about how these affect the global society and the humans that make it up.
The stories we tell about the future will inform the actions we take to build it up, and that’s the purpose of the workshop. On Thursday, Jeremy will present some ideas from his research to kick off the discussion, then using a basic framework, we’ll draw out a few pictures of what Lagos will look like in 10-15 years, and based on these, draw lines back to the present.
The workshop will hold from 3pm till 5:30pm at CcHub’s 6th floor on Thursday, August 25, 2016. It’s organised in partnership with Imisi 3D, a VR creation lab in Nigeria, and it’s totally free for anyone with an open mind who’s thinking about or building the future.
