Moonshot by TechCabal, Africa’s leading tech conference, is deepening its commitment to developing the continent’s next generation of innovators with a new series of off-site workshops after its 2025 edition.
First introduced in 2024, the off-site workshops are designed to give aspiring tech professionals practical, industry-grade training that bridges the gap between learning and real-world application.
This year, the initiative was scaled up. Workshops will now run for three to seven days, offering deeper engagement and more hands-on sessions. Depending on partner preference, they will take place either after the conference (October 17th–18th).
Participants will receive not just training, but access to broader opportunities within the Moonshot ecosystem—including free conference tickets, skill-development scholarships, and matchmaking opportunities within TechCabal’s startup community.

The workshops will focus on the most in-demand tech skills shaping Africa’s innovation economy:

- Brand Design
- Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning
Sample sessions include:
- “Intro to Product Management: Building for Africa’s Unique Challenges”
- “Building Scalable AI Solutions: From Concept to Deployment”
- “Designing for Millions: Product Design Principles for Emerging Markets”
- “Securing Your Digital Frontier: A Practical Guide to Cybersecurity”
The goal, according to the Moonshot team, is to equip Africa’s young talent with the skills, confidence, and community to thrive in a fast-evolving global tech landscape.
Partnering for Impact
To deliver this year’s expanded program, Moonshot is collaborating with some of Africa’s top tech education platforms—including Dataleum, Utiva, Gomycode, Decagon, and AltSchool. Each partner will provide facilitators, design training content, and host workshops at their facilities.
The workshops represent Moonshot’s growing ambition to not just convene Africa’s tech ecosystem but to actively nurture its future leaders.
As the Moonshot 2025 conference approaches, the off-site sessions will serve as both a prelude and postscript to Africa’s most influential tech gathering, extending its impact beyond the main stage and into classrooms, labs, and innovation hubs across the continent.
