Yet another e-hailing app in Nigeria’s increasingly crowded online taxi booking space? Why not? If it’s interesting enough that Uber is interested, then there is no reason why Taxipixi, a radio cab booking app that hails from India cannot jump into the fray.

From India? Yes. The e-hailing space in that market is as competitive as it is huge. Founded in May 2013, TaxiPixi appears to not only appears to have acquired some early traction, but also secured an undisclosed amount of funding in February 2014, according to reports.

TechCabal has received screenshots that leave doubt that the TaxiPixi service is now live in Lagos. The app is live on the Google Play Store. Even the service’s website has been configured to direct inbound Nigerian traffic to a Lagos-specific booking interface.

More information as it comes.
