Airtel Kenya has announced the appointment of Abdallah Khamis as its Commercial Director, according to reports.
Khamis will oversee Airtel money, customer service and enterprise divisions. He will also spearhead the company’s aggressive business growth strategy for improved service towards the achievement of its overall business objectives.
Prior to joining Airtel Kenya, Abdallah Khamis was General Manager of Royal Phillips, Central and West Africa for two years, where he managed three vital sectors: lighting, healthcare and consumer lifestyle.
Confirming his appointment, Airtel Kenya Chief Executive Officer Adil El Youssefi said, “Abdallah brings valuable know-how to Airtel Kenya and will be an asset to the management team as we continue to offer innovative communications solutions to our customers and grow the business in the country.”
Safaricom’s MPesa is currently dominating the mobile money market in Kenya. With this move, Airtel Kenya is positioning itself to grow its active user base, as well as improve customer care and service delivery.
