Impact Hub, a Johannesburg – based accelerator and co-working space has shut down its services until 2016.

The hub hinted that facilities aren’t good enough to support its teams working in South Africa, which according to a Disrupt Africa report, prompted a moment of “introspection.”

Impact Hub also pointed that other thriving business incubation and co-working companies emerging in South Africa has necessitated the need to revalue its role in the sector.

“The emergence of the business development and social innovation sectors have forced Impact Hub Johannesburg to focus internally to understand the value that it plays not only in the City of Johannesburg but also in South Africa as a whole,” Disrupt Africa reported.

Impact hub said says it will be “re-launching in 2016” and has a team working to reinvent the company and redesign it to meet current realities.
