About two weeks ago, we announced that Intel Africa was giving developers another opportunity to showcase their skills on a larger scale at the AppCircus Lagos event.

Well, the AppCircus Lagos longlist is out. A total of 22 apps were successfully entered for the Lagos event. Here they are.

1. Scantrax POS: By Adetunji Adelakun. Scantranx POS is a cloud based Android Point of Sale (POS) solution with great features and tools to help retail business owners effectively manage and grow their business by selling across multiple channels seamlessly.

2. Verge POS:  By Francis Osifo. Verge POS is a simple and intuitive Point of Sale solution for retailers, focused to enable micro,small and medium scale retailers manage their everyday operations from their tablets or mobile devices with opportunity to sync sales data across multiple outlets and access to a rich and in-depth analytic dashboard.

3. Awoof: By Adewale Balogun. Never pay for airtime and data bundle again. Users can get instant free mobile recharge across all operators in Nigeria in seconds.

4. Talomoo: By Folajimi Olaniyan. Talomoo is a quiz application that tests the user’s knowledge and understanding of Yoruba language.

5. Swap Naija: By Akinwale Oye-Lawrence. Transfers airtime across different telecommunication networks; an MTN user can send airtime to GLO, AIRTEL & ETISALAT lines and vice versa.

6. Field Mobile Capture: By Sam Eniojukan. It enables organizations to fully manage various types of field operations around the world from a central office. It provides monitoring, data capture, location tracking, offline capability and secure data capture from a variety of mobile devices.

7. RouteBuzz: By Femi Abioye. RouteBuzz traffic app saves you time by helping you determine the best route to take in a traffic ridden metropolis. Link up with other road users and get the necessary information to beat the traffic.

8. BrainFriend: By Boneri Saborogha. E-learning and examination preparatory software. Over 57,000 Questions and Answers, over 60 subjects and 20,000 theories.

9. FiveTalenz: By Victor Okpon. Discover and develop your personal talent to a professional level through simple day to day tasks.

10. Health Calculator: By Ayodeji Ogunnubi. Helps calculate short term memory span. The App also calculates your Body Max Index, Blood Alcohol Level and calories needed to either gain or lose weight.

11. Latest Fashion Styles Africa: By Olumide Ogunlana. Shows you what to wear for weddings, birthday parties or how to apply makeup. Also shows trending African prints.

12. Campus Pal:  By Ayodeji Ogunnubi. Educational app that encourages collaboration among college students from across the world.

13. Kunku: By Olukayode Abiba. Read all the stories you can with your children, teaching and entertaining them with African tales and folklores.

14. Challenger POS & Restaurant: By Anthony Smith. A POS for all kinds of businesses, free with no contract and no subscriptions required.

15. Koko for Messenger: By Josh Okezuo. KOKO for Messenger is a sticker expression app designed exclusively for African Facebook users to chat with on Messenger. Its characters and words reflect the day to day style of communication Africans use on social media.

16. My Chating Pet: By Olorunfemi Ajibulu. My Chating Pet is an app created from the movie Frozen to entertain its users. It has features such as: games, chatting and an educative quiz about Disney and other active characters around the movie series.

17. Storefella: By Ekene Duru. Storefella displays products and service everywhere in nigeria with map and locations. It allows store and business owners to register their products. Customers can view products owned by each business and call to purchase the product.

18. Trackenvoy: By Adedeji Opoola. Trackenvoy is a highly customizable smart software that helps businesses involved with remote workers and dispatches, obtain realtime information about tasks assigned to them.

19. Alumini: By Femi Abioye. Alumini is a group interaction and management app. You can join members of your groups –  associations, alumni, clubs, religious and professional organizations – in Alumini. Why have several apps for each association, when you can have a single app to house all of them?

20. OMOMI: By Charles Akhimien. ỌMỌMI (meaning “my child”) is a children’s health care app. The app has a vaccination reminder and scheduler, growth monitor and a GPS locator of the nearest hospital in case of emergencies among many other features. The app also has a very vibrant MOTHERS COMMUNITY section.

21. Impress Me: By Amit Ramdath. Allows job seekers to visually impress potential employers by submitting a unique video clip of themselves, pitching why they think they are right for the job. Employers can also get a first impression of potential candidates, before setting up an interview.

22. Ask an Expert Live Chat: By Felix Rwang-Dung. Ask an Expert is an enabling mobile live chat platform allowing customers of mobile operators directly connect to renowned experts in diverse fields for realtime knowledge dissemination and insight.

The judges will be taking a closer look at these apps in order to narrow them down to a final list of 10 all of which will pitch at the October 8 event.

The AppCircus event is a global traveling showcase of the most creative and innovative apps presented by their creators during some of the most influential international events in mobile/web. The Lagos edition will see developers and startups pitch their apps to a jury for the chance to win a trip to the Mobile Premier Awards, which hold in Barcelona during the Mobile World Congress 2016.
