The AMPION Venture Bus brings together young African change-makers and tech experts from all over the world for a 5-day competition and road-trip, to turn business ideas into real projects, create start-ups and develop innovative solutions to local challenges.

Last year, the Bus went on its first journey through Zimbabwe and South Africa, resulting in three start-ups launching operations: Sterio.me,a learning system via GSM, Workforce,a platform bringing together job seekers and potential employers, and Bribed,an app to tackle corruption via crowd-sourcing.

This year, the AMPION Venture Bus is coming, for the first time, to West Africa. The West African Bus will kick off on the 19th of September in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire and will continue to Lagos, Nigeria via Ghana, Togo and Benin. The final event of the AMPION Venture Bus West Africa will be held  on the 25th of September in Lagos, Nigeria at the DEMO Africa conference, where the winning venture will have an opportunity to present to over 200 international investors.

160 participants are expected to get on board during this second edition, so if you are a coder, a designer or you have a sound business mind, you are welcome to apply. Online applications are open to all. As key factors of economic change in Africa, young women are highly encouraged to apply.

This year’s Bus will hit the road in fifteen African countries, over five road trips, between September and November– first along the West African coast, and then the East African Community, the Maghreb, and once again in Southern Africa.
