Barely 3 weeks after it first surfaced as private beta on the Windows Phone store, BBM has finally progressed to public beta.
According to the Nokia Conversations blog:
“As the popularity of BBM continues to grow, we are thrilled to have the opportunity to expand its availability to the Windows Phone community.
The BBM app for Windows Phone is an exciting new chapter for the BBM service, and we are excited to be working with Microsoft to deliver a new level of collaboration to the Windows Phone platform.”
That’s right, anyone with a Windows Phone can now download BBM on their device . The app is still in beta phase but offers all the fundamental BBM features including BBM Chats, BBM Groups (up to 50 members) and BBM Feeds. It also includes Windows Phone specific features like “Pin to start” and transparent Live Tiles.
