Gauteng Internet Society, in partnership with iAfrikan and Soweto Wireless User Group, is set to host digital enthusiasts and entrepreneurs at the inaugural Soweto Innovation Week (SIW) in Johannesburg.
The event is scheduled to hold from 8th to 10th of April at the Soweto Theatre and will feature three different hot-topics spread over the three days: Internet Governance, Technology for Economic Development, and Digital Broadcasting.
Event organizers say the 3-day event is expected to provide platform for over 400 technology and digital professionals, startups and industry leaders to cross-pollinate ideas.
“It is imperative that we not only talk about uplifting communities but do something about it”, says Tefo Mohapi, Co-Founder of iAfrikan, “Soweto Innovation Week is about, bringing the knowledge, inspiration and education about innovation and technology to the people”.
