If you don’t have a ton of silver and gold to build a website, but have a few copper coins to spare for charity, you are in luck. Nowwegive.org is a charity initiative that will build you a very cheap website and donate every cent you give them to a Lagos based charity organization, Hearts of Gold Children’s Hospice (HOG Hospice).
Donations begin from $150, but you can give as much as you want.
“Donations are made directly to HOG hospice” says Iyin Aboyeji, co-founder of Andela.
Prospective donors have to apply. Once they are cleared to donate, they will meet with the team of developers to discuss the modalities of the execution of their website.
The donation however does not cover hosting. Hosting is provided at extra cost to the donor by Gigalayer, albeit at a 20 percent discount.
The charity initiative, Nowwegive.org is made up of Fellows of Andela, led by Adeleke Togun.
Submission of applications will close by June 15, 2015. Interested donors can apply here.
