Ghana-based incubator, iSpace Foundation will be hosting its Mobile Apps Ghana Showcase and the TURN8 Innov-a-thon pitch competition, set for July 4, 2015.

Disrupt Africa reports that the first event of the day will be the mobile apps showcase, and it will provide developers exposure for their works and get them feedback from the general public.

The TURN8 Innov-a-thon pitch competition on the other hand, will take place afternoon and will feature any startup within the community  willing to pitch their ideas for a  to be flown to Dubai for a four-month accelerator programme.

Speaking on the mobile apps showcase Alison Roadburg, programmes manager at iSpace said,

“though we find much inspiration from products designed and developed abroad, it is equally as important, if not more so, to recognise and purchase apps developed locally – which are contextually more relevant, made by Ghanaians, for Ghanaians.”

The events will hold at the iSPace Foundation hub in Accra, Ghana.
