Five female entrepreneurs have been selected to participate in the Huawei and She Leads Africa’s fellowship set for China.
Disrupt Africa reports that the five successful entrepreneurs were selected from a pool of 300 applications from Africa and from Africans in the diaspora.
The entrepreneurs include the CEOs of Sterio.me, Ujirani, Sunze Tec; an energy solutions startup, Shule Direct; online platform for secondary school students and teachers and Book1Car, a car rental platform.
“We were so impressed with the quality and creativity of the applications we received.” Yasmin Belo-Osagie, She Leads Africa co-founder. “The startups we selected demonstrated a clear problem they were solving, an innovative solution and how going to China would help them take a critical next step in their businesses.”
The entrepreneurs will be embarking on a week-long innovation tour to Shenzhen and Shanghai China where they will meet with Chinese technology entrepreneurs and gain insight on how to make African technology startups globally competitive.
