Vienna-based business incubation and innovation lab, Impact hub, has concluded plans to open its first office in Kigali, Rwanda by August 3, 2015.

Impact Hub has presence around the world, according to a report by Disrupt Africa, including 76 hubs and over 7,000 members. The Impact Hub Kigali will precede the launch of similar offices in Ghana, Mali and Sudan in a couple of months.

The hub, via its Resilience Africa program, recently launched incubators in Burundi, Democratic Republic of Congo, Ethiopia, Kenya and Sierra Leone in a program to help social entrepreneurs develop their ideas into investor-ready ventures.

“I believe that Impact Hub Kigali is going to create an avenue for young Rwandan entrepreneurs to connect with people who are essential in growing their businesses,” said Maria Mayanja, MD Impact Hub Kigali, in the report. “It is also going to be a place where individuals can come together to create something bigger than what they could have alone, through harnessing the power of entrepreneurship.”

Impact recently shuttered the Impact hub Johannesburg due to reports by partners and members said that the “facilities were not good enough”.
