Remember when we reported that a Nigerian team was pwning at the World Cyberlympics? Of course you do.

Well, said team, TeamNaija, has achieved African domination by knocking out all the other African participants on the continent. The team will therefore be going to Washington DC for the finals.

Coming in a close second, was another Nigerian team, Hawx. Guys, please, go easy on them or they will think our country is full of hackers.

The Global Cyberlympics event is a hands-on cyber security team game sport that  pits the best ethical hackers from around the world  against one another in a series of Forensics, Penetration testing, Computer Network Defense, and Capture the Flag Challenges.

Teams are judged based on the speed at which systems were hacked, the number of vulnerabilities found and the techniques used to uncover them.

TeamNaija seems poised to take the gold this year after being disappointed in 2012 when they got to the world Finals in Miami only to see the gold but not bring it home.

Rotimi Akinyele, a member of TeamNaija, said despite competing against the best-of-the-best in the whole world, the team was very confident of winning and returning as champions.
