Yemi Lalude, the founder of Adlevo Capital, has been appointed as the Managing Director of the TPG Growth Africa team.
TPG Growth serves as the global middle market and growth equity platform of TPG, the private investment firm with $74.3 billion of capital under management. Mr. Lalude will lead emerging market investment activities in TPG’s Technology, Media and Telecommunications (TMT) sector.
TPG Growth’s investments in Africa are coordinated through TPG/Satya, the partnership between TPG Growth and Satya Capital Limited launched earlier this year, in June.
“We are delighted to have Yemi join the team,” says Bill McGlashan, Founder and Managing Partner of TPG Growth. “His deep experience investing across Africa, as well as his experience in the TMT space, is a great fit for TPG Growth. With Yemi and the TPG/Satya team, we have the expertise needed to help build Africa’s best businesses.”
Mr. Lalude joins TPG Growth from Adlevo Capital, a private equity fund he founded in 2008. With Lalude at the helm, Adlevo Capital has invested in successful African tech companies such as Interswitch and Paga. His impressive background includes engineering, business development and product management positions at Hewlett-Packard and Siebel Systems. He also spent time as a Principal at GGV Capital, a venture capital firm based in Silicon Valley.
Mr. Lalude describes Africa and technology as “two of my greatest passions”. He adds, “I’m excited to be part of TPG Growth, and I look forward to working with colleagues across all TPG platforms and with our partners at Satya Capital.”
