There’s going to be a cyber-security hackathon from November 2, 2016 to November 3, 2016 at the Landmark Event Center, Lagos. Taking place at this year’s CyberXchange conference, the hackathon will test participants’ skills in programming, cyber security, information assurance, security engineering and other IT fields.

CyberXchange is sponsored by Facebook and, in their words, “We hope to discover new talents, methods and ideas; and to encourage development in the field of information security. It is our hope that besides discovering gifted hackers and cyber-defenders, the CyberXchange 2016 Hackathon will inspire the development of West Africa’s Information security professionals of the future”.

The hackathon is open to both individuals and teams provided they are university students or young individuals with less than two years experience.

Judges present at the competition will include Regina Wallace-Jones, Head of Security Operations, Facebook, Lanre “Eldee” Dabiri, Founder, PlayData, Babafemi Ogungbamila, CIO, Interswitch Nigeria, and TechCabal’s very own Bankole.
