This just in – Globacom has announced the nationwide launch of its 4G LTE service.

There’ve been rumours about the impending launch (including this report

that Glo would be rolling out 4G in Zaria, Kaduna this week) and now, it’s official. This launch makes Glo the third mobile telecom service to roll out 4G in Nigeria (after Ntel and MTN).

According to Glo’s official Twitter account, the 4G plans will range from N50 (for 30MB for one week) to N18,000 (for 90GB for 30 days). The fact that the plans are affordable isn’t surprising; Glo does have one of the best data plans in the country.

Glo 4G coverage areas include Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcourt, Benin, Eket, Jos, Warri, Yola and Zaria. Glo users can check if 4G is available in their areas by dialling *777#.

If reports are anything to go by, Etisalat is next on the list of 4G rollouts. We’re here waiting for them.
