CodeGarageAfrica, in partnership with the Oyo State Government, 386konsult, and Zeeh Africa, is proud to announce the successful certification of 1,000 senior secondary school students from 110 schools across Ibadan’s 11 local government areas in their 1000 Lines of Code initiative. The students completed an intensive 5-day training program at the International Conference Center in Ibadan, focusing on developing essential technology and coding skills.
Throughout the program, students participated in interactive workshops, hands-on coding/non code tech sessions, and real-world tech projects. The curriculum, designed by industry professionals, covered key areas such as web and mobile app development, software engineering, and digital literacy.
“We are incredibly proud of what these students have achieved in just five days,” said Dolapo Ayeni, Co-founder and Chief Brand Officer of CodeGarageAfrica. “This program is a crucial step in equipping our youth with the digital skills they need for the future. We are committed to supporting their journey and ensuring they have the tools to succeed.”
The certification ceremony marked the culmination of the training program, celebrating the students’ accomplishments and hard work. Distinguished guests from the Oyo State Government and partnering organisations attended the event, highlighting the importance of such initiatives in driving educational and technological advancement.
“This initiative represents a significant investment in our future leaders,” said Victor Funmipe, cybersecurity expert and event organiser. “We are excited to see the impact these students will have on the tech industry and their communities. Their success is a testament to the power of collaboration and innovation.”
“The students built a Criminal Database that is useful for the Oyo State Government. That’s something to be proud of and we have Dolapo Ayeni for this great initiative. We hope this doesn’t stop here. We are hoping the 1000 Lines of Code initiative is spread across Nigeria. Said David Adeleke, CEO of Zeeh Africa.
CodeGarageAfrica aims to continue its mission of promoting STEM education and digital literacy across Nigeria.
