Education is supposed to be a gateway to a brighter future, but for many students, the journey is filled with overwhelming financial challenges.

As part of their ongoing mission to support everyday Nigerians, CashToken Rewards Africa launched the CashToken Hope campaign, visiting schools and communities to find those in need of financial help.

When the team visited Yaba College of Technology (YabaTech), they encountered two remarkable students—Micheal Babatunde and Jessica Igwe—both facing financial struggles but determined to pursue their education.

Micheal, a final-year student at YabaTech, was the first to share his story with the CRA team. From his first year, it had been a constant battle to keep up with his education.

It wasn’t just the school fees or project costs that burdened him, it was everything.

Feeding, attending classes, and purchasing materials were constant challenges, and Micheal was open about how tough things had been. “It has been rough since my first year,” he shared with the team.

Upon hearing Micheal’s story, the team knew they had to do something meaningful. It wasn’t just about hearing him out—it was about taking action.

Recognizing his determination to finish his education despite the hardships, CashToken Rewards Africa offered Micheal ₦100,000 to help ease the financial burdens weighing him down. His surprise and joy when receiving this support made it clear that the gesture was much more than just money, it was a sign of hope.

Jessica Igwe, a 400-level student studying Marine Sciences, was another student who stood out to the team.

To afford her education, Jessica ran a small business while juggling her demanding academic schedule. Balancing her studies while running a small business to make ends meet, Jessica’s story was one of resilience and dedication.

School had been demanding, and the pressure to manage both her academics and business left her constantly on the edge. However, she persevered, showing the kind of strength that CRA admires.

Seeing her dedication, CRA recognized the effort Jessica had been putting in despite the tough economic times and offered her ₦100,000 to help with her school fees and expenses.

Her gratitude was immediate and heartfelt, a reminder that even the smallest acts of kindness can make an enormous impact.

In a time when financial struggles are making it harder for students to focus on their education, CashToken Rewards Africa continues to lead the charge in providing hope & support where it’s needed most.

Micheal’s and Jessica’s stories reflect the reality of many students across Nigeria, and CashToken Rewards Africa’s intervention shows their commitment to ensuring that no student is left behind due to financial hardship.
