Heifer International Nigeria is excited to announce the launch of the 2025 AYuTe Africa Challenge Nigeria, building upon the project’s established legacy of empowering young agri-tech innovators.
The AYuTe Africa Challenge Nigeria is an enterprise development program designed to identify, nurture, and support innovative, relevant, and technology-driven agri-centric enterprises, enabling them to grow, scale, and thrive. This challenge is a crucial springboard for identifying outstanding young agritech innovators and fostering strong partnerships that enhance visibility and improve smallholder farmers’ productivity.
Building on the regional AYuTe Africa Challenge, which awards more than US$1 million annually to leading agritech innovators across Africa, the national competitions, including AYuTe Nigeria, award significant prizes up to $40,000 within each country.
“The AYuTe Africa Challenge Nigeria is more than just a competition; it’s a vital ecosystem for nurturing the next generation of agri-tech leaders,” said Dr. Lekan Tobe, Country Director, Heifer International Nigeria. “We are committed to providing young entrepreneurs with the resources, mentorship, and support they need to transform their innovative ideas into impactful solutions for smallholder farmers. Building on previous successes, and looking forward to the new season, we are thrilled to launch the 2025 edition.”
The AYuTe Africa Challenge Nigeria began in 2022 and has run yearly, attracting over 1000 entries since then. The program’s success is evident in its ability to identify and support promising tech solutions that transform African agriculture.
The AYuTe Africa Challenge Nigeria 2025 offers young, creative entrepreneurs, aged 18 to 35, the opportunity to showcase how their innovative solutions are transforming African agriculture for smallholder farmers. Like the regional competition, the national challenge provides grants and mentorship, empowering winners to grow their businesses.
This season’s AYuTe Africa Challenge Nigeria will culminate in a grand finale in May 2025, where finalists will compete for cash grants totalling $40,000.
