Easter is finally here, bringing with it the joy of family time and a much-needed break from school. After months of assignments and exams, kids are excited to relax, unwind, and enjoy some screen time. For parents, this means finding ways to keep the little ones entertained during the long school break.

One of the best ways to do this is by enjoying some quality family-friendly TV together. While Netflix offers a wealth of content, it’s essential to make sure your kids are watching shows that are safe and age-appropriate. Thankfully, Netflix’s parental control features make this easy to manage, giving you peace of mind while your family enjoys entertainment. From creating age-specific profiles to restricting access to certain titles, Netflix allows parents to curate a holiday lineup that’s both safe and enjoyable for everyone.

Setting up a child-friendly Netflix experience

Before you dive into a family-friendly movie marathon, it’s a good idea to ensure your child’s viewing experience is safe, age-appropriate, and stress-free. Netflix makes this super easy with a suite of parental control features that put you in the driver’s seat.

    Create a kids profile
Start by creating a dedicated Kids profile. When you go to Manage Profiles, simply select Add Profile, give it a name, and tick the Kids option. This activates a child-friendly interface that only shows age-appropriate content, with simplified navigation and colourful artwork that’s more engaging for younger viewers. Once created, you can also adjust settings by clicking Edit Profile to fine-tune what your child sees.

Use maturity ratings & content filters
If you want more specific control, Netflix allows you to set content filters based on maturity ratings. Within Account Settings, go to Profile & Parental Controls, select your child’s profile, and choose Viewing Restrictions. You can then set the appropriate rating level—like PG for preschoolers or 12+ for older kids—and even block specific titles altogether. This helps ensure your little ones don’t stumble upon anything too intense or off-limits.

Lock adult profiles with a PIN
To prevent kids from accessing grown-up profiles, you can lock adult profiles with a PIN. In Account Settings, under Profile Lock, you’ll be able to create a 4-digit PIN that’s required to access your personal viewing space. You can also choose to require a PIN before new profiles can be created. It’s a simple way to keep boundaries clear and content separate.

    View and monitor watch history
Netflix also makes it easy to keep an eye on what your child is watching. Through Viewing Activity in Profile & Parental Controls, you can view a full list of shows and movies they’ve watched. This helps you stay informed, better understand their interests, and even start meaningful conversations around what they’re engaging with.

    Easter-approved picks for all ages

Now that your child’s viewing experience is safe and age-appropriate, it’s time to dive into some exciting Easter content you can watch with family! Here are some must-watch titles that’ll keep the entire family entertained and make this Easter extra special.
