Zobe Technologies, a UAE-based fintech innovator, is bringing its revolutionary contactless payment ring to Nigeria.

The Zobe Ring allows users to make secure payments with a simple tap at any NFC-enabled POS—no phone, no cash, no card required.

    Why now?

Until recently, the necessary regulations and infrastructure weren’t in place to support contactless payments adoption. That’s changed. The CBN issued its Contactless Payments Guidelines in 2022, establishing a clear framework for this technology. At the same time, many POS devices across the country are now contactless-enabled, creating the ideal conditions for contactless solutions.

How secure is the Zobe Ring?

Zobe leverages tokenization, replacing sensitive card details with a unique identifier to protect every transaction. Paired with a mobile app, users can monitor spending, and instantly disable ring if lost or stolen. This makes Zobe’s solution not just convenient, but also a secure alternative to traditional payment methods.

    More than just payments

The Zobe Ring goes far beyond payments. With a simple tap of your ring, you can unlock your car, share a digital copy of your business card, or access spaces like your home, offices or events.

    No charging required

Zobe Ring uses passive NFC chip technology and never require charging. It’s waterproof, scratch-resistant, and remains functional no matter the conditions.

When will Zobe be available in Nigeria?

The Zobe Ring will have an initial roll out in Nigeria in August 2025 for early adopters. You can visit www.zobering.com to apply for early access.

    Supported banks

As the Zobe Ring works with bank-issued cards, Zobe is partnered with with select local banks to enhance card compatibility, more details about partner banks to be announced soon.

“We’re excited to introduce a payment solution where Nigerians need no phones, no cards, or cash,” said the team at Zobe Technologies. “With Nigeria’s payment infrastructure now ready, this is the moment to deliver the future of payments.”
