Crypto derivatives continue to grow globally, but many African traders still hesitate to explore futures markets, not because of a lack of interest, but because most platforms look intimidating.

Between dense charts, technical indicators, and complex interfaces, the average user who’s used to straightforward buy-and-sell trading often feels locked out of more advanced tools.

Roqqu’s latest product update is aimed squarely at that gap.

The African crypto exchange has introduced a contracts trading feature designed with simplicity in mind, targeting everyday traders who already use spot markets and want to explore more advanced trading options without getting overwhelmed.

A simpler way to trade futures

Futures trading allows users to speculate on price movements, hedge against volatility, and manage risk more strategically. However, most futures platforms are built for experienced traders, leaving newcomers to navigate cluttered dashboards and complex tools.

Roqqu’s approach is intentionally different. It strips the experience down to what users actually need.

The new feature prioritises simplicity, clean layouts, and intuitive navigation, dramatically reducing the learning curve.

    Roqqu provides:

    • A clean, beginner-friendly interface that focuses only on what users need to place and manage trades.
    • Straightforward long/short execution, making it easier for spot traders to understand directional trading.
    • Clear price movement indicators that help users grasp market changes in real time.
    • Built-in risk tools, such as stop-loss and take-profit settings, are displayed upfront rather than hidden behind advanced menus.
    • A familiar interface, allowing first-time futures users to feel at home within minutes.

This simplicity is Roqqu’s key differentiator in a market where most futures products feel designed for experts.

Built around what users actually need

“Many new traders are discouraged by the intimidating interfaces most exchanges have,” said Isreal Ololade, Chief Product Officer at Roqqu. “Our goal was to build a product that feels familiar, user-friendly, and accessible for all, especially traders taking their first step beyond spot trading.”

Roqqu users can navigate between spot and futures trading within the app, open long or short positions in fewer steps, and set risk controls such as stop-loss or take-profit options without digging through advanced menus.

Leverage and margin details are clearly displayed, helping users understand their exposure before committing to a trade.

    How the feature works

The new contracts section appears directly on the app’s crypto trading dashboard. Traders can:

    • Click on contracts to discover hot futures trading pairs
    • Open long or short positions using simplified controls
    • Select up to 40x leverage on trading pairs
    • Set risk limits before executing trades
    • Easily monitor PnL on their dashboard

Supported pairs will expand over time, including more real-world assets as seen with the PAXG addition. The Roqqu Academy will also offer more in-depth training for users who want to understand futures trading strategies.

What this means for African crypto traders

As crypto adoption continues to rise across Africa, access to advanced trading tools has often lagged behind global standards. By simplifying futures trading, Roqqu is positioning itself as a bridge between basic crypto usage and more sophisticated financial strategies.

For retail traders, this means easier entry into hedging and volatility management, without needing to master complex trading interfaces.

    The future is here

The launch is part of Roqqu’s broader mission to build the simplest and most user-friendly crypto experience for Africans. More trading pairs, risk-management tools, educational materials, and accessible tools are expected as the feature evolves.

The futures contract is now available on the Roqqu app for users looking to explore beyond spot trading.
