Bluebulb finished Top-6 among 590 teams in National AI Agent challengeย

    Lagos, Nigeria,
    18th of June, 2026.

Bluebulb’s Innovation Team has secured a top-six national ranking in the DSN x Bluechip Technologies LLM Agent Challenge 3.0, one of Nigeriaโ€™s largest artificial intelligence competitions, after building and deploying its Naija Persona Agent in ten days. The team competed against more than 590 entries from over 30 states and received formal recognition and a cash prize from Bluechip Technologies for the project.

Bluebulb is best known for its cross-border payment and treasury infrastructure for African businesses. The teamโ€™s broader bet is that understanding how Nigerian consumers communicate and transact will sharpen how Bluebulb and its clients connect with its audience.

The achievement marks a significant milestone for Bluebulb’s growing artificial intelligence capabilities and reinforces the company’s commitment to innovation while building payment solutions for African businesses.

The DSN x Bluechip Technologies LLM Agent Challenge 3.0 asked participants to design AI agents capable of solving real-world problems using large language models. Within a ten-day build window, Bluebulbโ€™s team developed a custom AI model, a customer-facing application, and a research paper documenting the projectโ€™s methodology, architecture, and findings.

At the centre of Bluebulb’s submission was the Naija Persona Agent, an AI platform trained on 4.2 million Nigerian consumer interactions. The solution was specifically designed to understand how Nigerians communicate, shop, engage with brands, and make purchasing decisions, capabilities often underrepresented in globally trained AI systems.

Commenting on the achievement, Odunayo Rotimi, Data and AI Automation Manager at Bluebulb, said:

“For too long, African businesses have relied on AI systems trained predominantly on data from markets with vastly different consumer behaviours, languages, and cultural contexts. By training on millions of Nigerian consumer interactions, we have shown that Africa can develop intelligent systems that understand its people. We believe the next wave of AI innovation on the continent will be driven by solutions built on African data, for African markets.”

Also commenting on the achievement, Ola Daramola, Chief Executive Officer and Co-founder of Bluebulb, said:

“I am incredibly proud of what the team accomplished in just 10 days. Their achievement reflects the culture of curiosity, excellence, and continuous innovation we are building at Bluebulb. As we are  intentionally building AI capabilities across the organisation, the success of the team demonstrates the impact of investing in talent, innovation, and locally relevant technology.”

The achievement was delivered by Bluebulb’s Data and Innovation Team, led by Chief Innovation Officer, Gbenga Osowe. The team comprised Odunayo Rotimi, Ezra Ogianyo, Esther Oyenekan, Folusho Obitusin, Opeyemi Ogundaisi, Franca Uvere, Emmanuel Ashinze, Sharon Oseghe, Olaoluwa Sipe, Tosin Folorunsho, and David Johnson, whose collective expertise in data science, artificial intelligence, research, product development, and innovation contributed to the successful development of the Naija Persona Agent.

The recognition from the DSN x Bluechip Technologies LLM Agent Challenge 3.0 adds to a growing list of Nigerian and African teams shaping how AI is built and applied across the continent.
