Tech Summit Ogun is an annual event that brings together innovators, entrepreneurs, thought leaders and tech enthusiasts to drive innovation, tackle challenges, and empower everyone with the necessary information to thrive in the tech industry.

The 6th edition of Tech Summit Ogun, tagged “Disruptive Innovation: Thriving in the Age of Disruption,” has concluded, leaving an indelible mark on the tech community in Ogun state.

The two-day event, held from October 9-10, 2024, at the June 12 Cultural Centre, Kuto, Abeokuta, brought together innovators, entrepreneurs, startup founders, thought leaders, and tech enthusiasts for a packed schedule of one keynote address by Iyinoluwa Aboyeji, one Masterclass by Data Science Nigeria, three fireside chats, four-panel discussions, six spotlight sessions, a product launch and the Deal Room by Bildar where ideas meet funding.

The summit officially started with the viewing of the “Becoming Tech Summit Ogun” documentary (now on YouTube – @techsummitogun), then the spotlight session by Femi Adekoya, who shed light on How Tech is Helping Scale Up Agriculture. Femi highlighted how technology can empower agricultural practices, making them more efficient and scalable. This laid a solid foundation for the day, sparking conversations about innovation in non-traditional tech spaces and giving insights to secondary school students present.

The summit featured an impressive lineup of speakers across brands like Prembly, EbonyLife Group, Taeps Animation Studios, Eight Medical, Crevtus, Immersive Tech Africa, Hebron Startup Lab, Good Climate, and more, who were part of our panel session, fireside chats and spotlight sessions. The sessions tackled pressing challenges and unspoken issues in the tech space, such as startup growth, women in tech, creativity, intellectual property protection, and leveraging technology to address global challenges. Attendees benefited from the shared knowledge and mentorship of our speakers.

Data Science Nigeria, the summit’s Gold sponsor, brought a unique twist to the summit with its Masterclass on “Artificial Intelligence for an Improved Teaching and Learning Outcome” and launched its “AI in Yoruba Series” which is now available on YouTube (@dsnai). This Masterclass explored the role of artificial intelligence in preserving local languages, making it an inspiring highlight of Day 1.

Day two featured the Deal Room by Bildar, where startups could pitch their ideas, receive feedback, and explore investment opportunities. The Deal Room was a hotspot for budding entrepreneurs eager to turn their visions into reality. UseUmbrella, Fate Foundation, and 7interactive  facilitated the Deal Room by sharing from their wealth of experience..

The event saw a diverse attendance of tech professionals, entrepreneurs, startups, innovators, enthusiasts, representatives from Ogun State Ministry of Education, the NIPOST Director of ICT and the State Coordinator, tech stakeholders in the state, all united by a passion for technology and innovation. It also provided a platform for meaningful connections, collaborations, and networking opportunities.

We are grateful to our speakers, partners, sponsors, team members, hosts, and attendees for making Tech Summit Ogun 2024 a groundbreaking success.

The summit has ignited a new wave of innovation, collaboration, and community spirit. As we look ahead to TSO 2025, the goal remains: to keep pushing boundaries and fostering an environment where technology and creativity can flourish together.
