Lyfecamp, the startup founded to help promising Nigerian student entrepreneurs from around the country build successful, sustainable ventures that would in the long run reduce youth unemployment, is set to launch with the Lifting Youth and Fostering Entrepreneurship (LYFECAMP) bootcamp, a 3-day long event being organized to help promising Nigerian entrepreneurs take their ventures to the next level and address a number of global challenges – high levels of youth unemployment, access to education, and poverty alleviation.

Lyfecamp‘s founders, Chinedu Okoro, Sola Lawal and Tope Isedowo,  believe that by teaching unemployed youth entrepreneurship, these youth will themselves turn around, lift other youth out of unemployment, reduce Nigeria’s 37.7% youth unemployment rate taking advantage of the growth in Africa’s economy, and Nigeria’s rebased GDP and global recognition of its newfound status as an economic powerhouse.

According to Tope Isedowo, the pioneer class of the Lyfecamp bootcamp will expose 31 student entrepreneurs (Cadets) to practical business lessons handed down by seasoned mentors over the span of 3 days, from the 19th through the 22nd of June, 2014. The entrepreneurs will also have the opportunity to connect to angel investors, incubators, and VC firms.

The Lyfecamp bootcamp is supported by the Intel Corporation, RED Media, Aiki, Ashoka, Nigeria Leadership Initiative, Harambe Entrepreneurial Alliance, Wennovation Hub, iDEA Hub, Leadpath, Passion Incubator and many more.

    Date: 19th – 22nd June, 2014
