Marketed under the tagline “Take Note, Do More,” the Infinix Note Edge perfectly blends high-fashion aesthetics with technical prowess. The device attempts to solve the age-old compromise between a slim, pocketable design and the massive battery life required by modern 5G connectivity.

Design and the immersive 3D-curved experience

At first glance, the Note Edge is undeniably striking. With a thickness of 7.2mm, it houses a curved 1.5K AMOLED display, which gives the handset a good profile. The screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 7i, offering a level of durability that is often sacrificed in curved designs.

One of the outstanding physical attributes is the reduction of the bottom bezel to 1.87mm, creating a visually uniform all-screen effect that makes media consumption deeply immersive.

The rear of the device is equally attractive. The Shadow Black variant offers a pearlescent cat eye finish that shifts elegantly under direct light.

    Performance

Under the bonnet, the Note Edge debuts the MediaTek Dimensity 7100 5G platform. This chipset is a significant milestone, engineered to provide a true 5G experience. The 6nm process ensures that the device remains cool even during high-intensity tasks. Coupled with a 2800Hz instant touch sampling rate, the device is surprisingly capable as a gaming machine, delivering fluid reactions in fast-paced titles.

Battery innovation and the self-healing revolution

Perhaps the most disruptive element of the Note Edge is its battery technology. While most manufacturers struggle to fit 5000mAh into a slim chassis, Infinix has utilised high-density materials to squeeze in 6500mAh.

The introduction of self-healing technology is a genuine industry first. This system uses low-current recovery to repair micro-damage within the battery cells when the phone is fully depleted, allowing the unit to retain over 80% of its health after 2,000 charge cycles, roughly six years of daily use.

    Key highlights

Beyond the core specifications, the Note Edge includes several features that set it apart from its predecessors:

    • Active Halo lighting: An intelligent ring on the rear that pulses for notifications and calls, adding a touch of personality to the hardware.
    • Customisable one-tap button: A physical shortcut that can be mapped to silent mode, the flashlight, or the Folax AI assistant.
    • Touch transfer: A rare cross-ecosystem tool that allows users to tap their phone against an iPhone to share Live Photos and videos instantly.
    • Two-way AI noise reduction: This ensures that both the caller and the recipient hear crystal-clear audio, even in noisy urban environments.
    • JBL dual stereo speakers: Co-engineered with JBL, the five-magnet acoustic system provides a depth of sound that is rarely found in such a slim device.

    Final thoughts

After spending 9 days with the Infinix Note Edge, I noticed it felt sleek in my hand because of the ultra-slim 7.2mm profile. Also, its battery lasts, and the software is reliable. The Note Edge feels like a curated experience. For users who enjoy gaming, this can be a good option for you.
