At a time when many Nigerian startups are struggling to move beyond early traction into sustainable growth, Crosspoint Innovate Empowerment Initiative (CPI) has opened applications for the INNOVATE 2026 Pitch and Grant Program.

Now in its third year, the program offers a $5,000 grant to high-potential founders, alongside access to mentorship, investor networks, and national visibility at one of Nigeria’s growing platforms for emerging businesses.

This year’s conference is built around a clear focus: “The Next Growth Stage: Positioning African Businesses for Sustainable Growth and Profitability.”

For CPI, the direction is deliberate. The challenge is no longer just starting a business but building one that can survive, scale, and remain profitable in a demanding market.

Over the past few years, the initiative has worked with more than 2,000 entrepreneurs across Nigeria and continues to support a community of over 200 founders through structured programs focused on growth, capacity building, and market access.

Last year’s edition produced Daniel Chukwueloka Monyei, who emerged as the winner of the INNOVATE 2025 Pitch and Grant Program, taking home the $2,000 grand prize. Daniel is building a venture that transforms plastic waste into mosquito-repellent paint.

“A lot of founders don’t fail because the idea is weak. They stall because they don’t have the right support at the point where growth becomes complex. Innovate is built for that stage.” Convener, Ladi Soyombo stated

The program continues to attract founders solving practical, local problems with scalable models. One recent participant is building a venture that converts plastic waste into mosquito-repellent paint – a solution that addresses both environmental waste and public health.

Shortlisted applicants will pitch live at the INNOVATE 2026 Conference, where finalists will present to a panel of investors, operators, and ecosystem leaders.

Beyond the grant, selected founders gain something more difficult to access – the right room. A network of people who can open doors, challenge thinking, and accelerate growth.

Applications are now open to entrepreneurs and small business owners across Nigeria. Selection will be based on innovation, scalability, market potential, and early traction.
