In Nigeria, conversations around stocks and crypto investments are happening everywhere but rarely in one reliable place. Investors move between X, Threads, Telegram channels, Facebook, and WhatsApp groups, searching for opinions, signals, and market updates. But much of this information is scattered, unstructured, and disconnected from verified market data.

TokVest was built to solve that problem.

TokVest is a social platform for stock and crypto investors designed to bring conversations and market intelligence into a single environment. Rather than replacing brokerage platforms, TokVest focuses on helping investors think, learn, and make decisions by combining community discussions with structured market data.

โ€œWe saw that Nigerians jump from one platform to another in search of credible stock market data,โ€ said Dr. Wale Olabisi, founder of TokVest. โ€œSo we decided to build a platform that could serve as a single source of truth where conversations are backed by reliable market information.โ€

Dr. Olabisi holds a Bachelor of Science in Geology from Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko, Nigeria, a Master’s in Petroleum Geology from California State University, Bakersfield, USA, an MBA from Louisiana Tech, Ruston, USA, and a Ph.D. in Industrial and Systems Engineering from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, USA.

As a technical expert with an MBA, he brings an analytical background to a problem that is as much about data integrity as it is about community.

Across Nigeria, retail investing is gradually gaining traction, particularly among younger investors drawn to wealth creation through stocks and digital assets. Access to reliable insights, however, remains a challenge. Many investors rely on informal groups where information is difficult to verify, conversations are easily lost, and sentiment is hard to track over time. TokVest attempts to bring structure to these conversations.

On the platform, users can share market insights, follow discussions around specific stocks or crypto assets, and track community sentiment in real time. A key component is its stock screener, which allows users to filter and discover stocks using financial metrics such as price-to-earnings (P/E) ratio, market capitalization, dividend yield, and price movement. Users can also create watchlists, monitor trending stocks, and identify assets gaining bullish or bearish attention across the community.

Market data is powered by the Nigeria Exchange Group (NGX), with verified historical records dating back to 1998. By linking conversations directly to a trusted data source, the platform aims to reduce misinformation and support more informed decision-making.

While investors continue to execute trades through brokerage platforms, TokVest aims to become the place where investment ideas are formed, tested, and debated before decisions are made;a dedicated layer for investor intelligence that Nigeriaโ€™s growing retail market has not had before.

TokVest is free to use. Investors and enthusiasts can join the community at www.tokvest.co with mobile apps available on iOS and Android.
