Zimbabwe-based Vivazim is poised to be the first company in Zimbabwe to use MNVO (Mobile Virtual Network Operator) business model to provide voice, data and video for mobile subscribers.
According to a pitch on VC4Africa, Vivazim has recognized a new business frontier in the MNVO model and will target Zimbabwe’s high spending youth.
The firm hopes to offer freedom of choice to Zimbabwean subscribers in a market nearly colonized by only one operator, Econet. “We reckon that there is in the region of 2.5 million subscribers and we aim to get at least 20% of that. We want to offer people freedom of choice and give customers what they want and what they need,” Vivazim founder, Dzidzai Chidumba said in an earlier media report.
As at the time of this writing, Vivazim have no working demo of the model or prototype and is currently in need of funding to begin business development. Vivazim will consult with Hebitel in vendor selection, system design and implementation which will be proprietary to Vivazim on the long run.
Vivazim plans to monetize via a multi-tiered prepaid funnel.
