The Acer for Education initiative sponsored by Acer has launched an e-learning classroom at the Shalom School in Lusaka, Zambia.
Acer has provided a number of desktop computers, projectors and other learning equipments to aid the learning and instruction in the Lusaka school.
In an official statement, Acer said “Zambia is a key focus area in education for Acer, and projects like Shalom Community School will be the first of many collaborations and initiatives in this country.”
Acer is bullish about the chances of its initiative opening a new world of learning opportunities to children who have not had the this opportunity in the past
Shalom school was founded and currently is been managed by charity organisation Africa Calls. It accommodates 875 pupils from Grade 1 to Grade 12, with inclusion of disabled pupils, granting them opportunity to have formal learning .
The Acer for Education project and initiative have previously extended to other schools in the Southern African regions such as Mary Mount School in Rashinga, Zimbabwe; Orlando Pirates Learning Centre in Soweto, and the Science & Technology Train, Matjiesonftein.
