Airtel Kenya has connected the Kambui school for the deaf in Kambui Kenya to free access to the internet, enabling them access to educational materials on the web, reports Techmoran.
The development is in accordance with the ongoing Airtel’s “Internet for Schools” program. Airtel will provide data connectivity to schools across the country in a bid to support the education system.
Airtel Kenya CEO, Adil El Youssefi said, “Our initiative as a company is to make the internet available and accessible to all, especially to students that are unable to afford the cost of access. As a way of development, we choose to invest in education through the provision of free internet services for both able and physically challenged students”.
Just recently, Airtel connected Machakos Police station in Kenya to free internet in other to improve their communication with the public. The telco also connected Koinange primary school in Nakuru, Kenya internet earlier this year.
