TanaMe is a professional enterprise communication app developed by the Zimbabwe-based software development firm and MVNO, Tana Communications.
The app features an enterprise messenger, a mail aggregator, 1-click navigation and the Tana RWAVi, a search engine that provides intelligent/personalized message views.
The app also integrates payments. “Users can top up their accounts using credit/debit cards, PayPal, mobile wallet (Ecocash, Telecash etc.), plus other channels,” TanaMe tells us in the pitch to TechCabal.
The TanaMe credits can be used to send SMSs and make calls to mobile and fixed line networks worldwide. TanaMe also has a ‘Facetag’ technology that enable users filter calls, SMS, chats or email contacts.
Although WhatsApp, Skype, Viber and their ilk already offer similar features, the tool’s ability to combine all these feature; calls, chats, SMS and emails is what stands it out. But the real competition are applications like Stewart Butterfield’s Slack which have become ubiquitous already in internet companies’ workspaces in Africa. It’s what we swear by at TechCabal, in fact.
The mobile app has free and paid versions available for download from the Google Play Store. The tool does not have an iOS app yet.
