Triggerfish Animation Studios, a Cape Town-based computer-animated film studio, is set to open up a its $3.5million incubator, the Triggerfish Story Lab, for African storytellers and filmmakers.

TechMoran reports that Triggerfish will provide financial support, workspace, and expert guidance for participants.

“The Story Lab will be a great catalyst for African creativity on the global stage. We look forward to opening up the Triggerfish production platform and our networks to the continent’s top creative talent,” says Triggerfish CEO Stuart Forrest.

Successful participants in the Story Lab program will go through a two-week mentoring with studio and television executives at Disney’s headquarters in Burbank, California. Participants will subsequently work on their projects from the Triggerfish Story Lab with a view at reaching a global market.

Application is currently open for talented storytellers. All entries are to be written in English Language and submissions close by 31st August, 2015. Apply here.
